What we offer

Each service begins with a conversation to understand where your student is and where they need to be. Not sure which is right? Tell us about your student.

Test Prep
Full-test or single-section preparation, built around a diagnostic that identifies your student’s actual score gaps. No generic curriculum—every study plan targets the specific areas where improvement will have the biggest impact on test day.
Test Prep
Section-by-section strategy with emphasis on pacing and timing—the two skills that separate a student who knows the material from one who can perform under test conditions. Diagnostic assessment included.
Test Prep
Preparation for the ISEE, designed for students applying to independent and private schools. Sessions target each section of the exam with an emphasis on the reasoning and analysis skills that distinguish competitive applicants.
Academic Tutoring
Algebra I through Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry. Sessions are aligned to your student’s actual coursework and teacher expectations—not a separate curriculum that creates more homework.
Academic Tutoring
Comprehension, analysis, essay development, and grammar. These are the foundational skills that show up in every subject and on every standardized test—and they respond well to focused, consistent practice.
Advisory · Separate Engagement
Admissions counseling is a different kind of work than tutoring. It’s a comprehensive, multi-month engagement covering school list development, application strategy, essay guidance, and student positioning. Many families begin with test prep and add admissions counseling as college timelines approach.

This service has its own structure and pricing, separate from hourly tutoring. Get in touch to learn more.

Includes an initial strategy meeting and a detailed written assessment of your student’s admissions profile.

What makes Bellwether Prep different

Most tutoring companies optimize for volume. Your student deserves someone who optimizes for them.

Same tutor, every session

Your student works with the person who founded this practice. No hand-offs, no rotation, no hoping the next tutor is as good as the last one.

Sessions built around your student

Every session is planned in advance based on your student’s actual coursework, goals, and progress. Nothing is pulled from a binder or run from a script.

Direct communication

Questions, schedule changes, and progress updates go straight to your student’s tutor. No coordinators, no phone trees, no intermediaries.

3

Personalized Plan

Based on the consultation, a tailored study plan is built around your student’s specific gaps, timeline, and objectives.

4

Tutoring Sessions

One-on-one sessions that follow the plan, adjusted week to week based on what your student is working on in class.

5

Progress & Adjustment

Periodic reassessments to measure improvement, identify remaining gaps, and recalibrate the plan as your student’s needs evolve.

Steps 4 and 5 repeat continuously throughout the engagement. Your student’s program is never static—it’s built to respond to their progress in real time.

How it works

Every engagement follows the same cycle: assess, plan, work, measure, adjust. Your student’s program evolves as they do.

Why Bellwether Prep exists

Nick — Founder, Bellwether Prep

Bellwether Prep was built on a simple frustration with how tutoring usually works.

At most tutoring companies, families pay premium rates but work with whoever happens to be available that week. The tutor follows a predetermined curriculum regardless of what the student actually needs. And if a parent has a question, they call a coordinator who relays the message to someone who may or may not remember their kid’s name.

Before starting Bellwether Prep, Nick spent several years inside that system—as a lead tutor, then as center director at a national franchise, managing student programs and overseeing instructional quality across subjects. He also taught high school geometry in the classroom, and has guided families through the college admissions process from school list development through final submission.

The practice exists because the best version of tutoring—where one qualified person knows your student deeply and builds every session around them—isn’t what large companies are set up to deliver. Bellwether Prep is.
